On Monday, the third and last day of their tourism promotion mission in Dubai, His Royal Highness the Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg and the Minister for Tourism and for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Lex Delles, participated in the opening of the “Luxembourg Tourism Days”, organised by the General Directorate for Tourism.

A workshop entitled "Inspiring Travel and Meeting Experiences in Luxembourg", held in the presence of Luxembourgish and Emirati companies from the tourism sector, presented the strengths of the Grand Duchy as a destination for leisure and conference tourism. Minister Lex Delles, Sebastian Reddeker, CEO of Luxembourg for Tourism GIE, and Noémie Schuler, Marketing Communication Manager of the Luxembourg Convention Bureau GIE, painted a portrait of Luxembourg by evoking the multicultural character, open-mindedness, digitalisation strategy, sustainable and innovative ecosystem and rich and varied landscapes of the country.

Minister Delles underlined in particular that "Luxembourg has advantages which benefit leisure tourism as well as congress tourism, that is to say a multilingual environment, a strategic position at the heart of Europe, innovative economic sectors and unspoiled and attractive nature. We are now focusing more on the digitalisation of our tourism offer and on the development of high-level infrastructure".

Sebastian Reddeker added that “Luxembourg is for many still a hidden gem, but those who have discovered it often fall in love with the country. Its welcoming, open and diverse population, its rich history and its promising future make Luxembourg a place where one can feel the power of transformation - even as a visitor”.

Noémie Schuler said that “the Grand Duchy is an idyllic country which is valued for its natural beauty, sophisticated charms and history as one of the great fortresses of Europe. The country has also established itself as one of the most popular destinations thanks to its wide range of activities, its breathtaking tourist sites and its gastronomy which will please everyone”.

Moreover, Prince Guillaume and Minister Lex Delles visited a village of stands with five exhibitors, which was set up at the Luxembourg pavilion on the occasion of the "Luxembourg Tourism Days". Natural and regional apple juice from Eppelpress, Péckvillecher (traditional bird-shaped clay whistles) by artist Sandra Pereira and potter Usch Biver, guitars by luthier Didac Zerrouk, stained glass windows from the Bauer & Rathmann artisan workshop and the City of Esch-sur-Alzette, European Capital of Culture 2022, illustrated the creativity, diversity and technical know-how of Luxembourg's tourism and craft sector. Five Luxembourg tourist guides also take on the role of ambassadors within the pavilion. Faithful to the motto "Ask a Lëtzebuerger", they offer additional explanations about the tourist attractions of the pavilion and welcome visitors to the village of stands.

Luxembourg's Tourism Minister commented: “[I]t was important for us to highlight the diversity of tourism players, the quality of the tourism sector and the unique character of the Grand Duchy during the 'Luxembourg Tourism Days'. Thanks to the 'Inspiring Travel and Meeting Experiences in Luxembourg' workshop, we were able to present a coherent overview of our tourism offer. This event also enabled Luxembourg companies in the tourism sector to make new contacts and meet potential partners. The village of stands with its extraordinary exhibitors from various sectors finally authentically illustrated the creativity and know-how of companies in the Grand Duchy”.

In Abu Dhabi, Prince Guillaume met with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates' Armed Forces, in his Majlis.
