The 13th annual British & Irish Film Festival Luxembourg (BIFFL) is taking place in Luxembourg cinemas from Friday 16 September until Saturday 24 September 2022.

As part of its 10th anniversary celebrations, Chronicle.lu is organising a social community event, as part of the larger "Solidarity for Refugees" event at this year's BIFFL, on Thursday 22 September 2022 at 19:00 at the Cinémathèque. For this event, the organisers are also partnering with Kachen and LUkraine asbl.

This anniversary event and evening of solidarity with refugees features the screening of two short films (each approx. 30 mins), including discussions around both: "From Iraq to Ukraine", the story of Ali Sahib, himself a refugee from Iraq, who travelled to Ukraine shortly after Russia invaded the country in February 2022; "Taste of Home", by UNHCR Ireland, about refugees from Afghanistan, Palestine, Guinea and Yemen who settle in Ireland and showcase their home cuisine.

For this special occasion, we are giving away 10 pairs of tickets. To apply to win FREE tickets, just send an email with your first name and surname to editor@chronicle.lu. The draw will be made on Wednesday 21 September 2022 at 12:00.
