The Luxembourg Chronicle, as Media Partner, in association with Utopia S.A., is offering 5 pairs of FREE tickets to the Ciné Breakfast that is taking place on Sunday 24 January 2016 at Ciné Utopia in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg. Please see below on how to enter.
The Ciné Breakfast offer comprises five films that are being screened simultaneously at 11:00, with the cinema open from 10:30 for breakfast. Tickets cost €10.80 (reduced price €9.30; U12s €5.70). The five films include:
- 45 Years (drama, 95 mins, in English). Directed by Andrew Haigh and starring Tom Courtenay, Charlotte Rampling, Dolly Wells. In the week leading up to their 45th wedding anniversary, a couple receive an unexpected letter which contains potentially live changing news.
- Chocolat 2016 (drama, 110 mins, in French). Directed by Roshdy Zem and starring Omar Sy. Du cirque au théâtre, de l'anonymat à la gloire, l'incroyable destin du clown Chocolat, premier artiste noir de la scène française. Le duo inédit qu'il forme avec Footit, va rencontrer un immense succès populaire dans le Paris de la Belle époque avant que la célébrité, l'argent facile, le jeu et les discriminations n'usent leur amitié et la carrière de Chocolat. Le film retrace l'histoire de cet artiste hors du commun.
- Bibi & Tina 3: Mädchen gegen Jungs (family drama, 101 mins, in German). Directed by Detlev Buck and starring Kostja Ullmann, Charly Hübner, Katharina Thalbach. Bibi Blocksberg is a girl with special powers: she is a witch. Neues Kino-Abenteuer der kleinen Hexe Bibi (Lina Larissa Strahl) und ihrer Freundin Tina (Lisa Marie Koroll), die auf einem Reiterhof lebt. Dieses Mal sind die Schüler der internationalen Partnerschule aus der Hauptstadt zu Besuch. Bei einer Geocaching-Challenge müssen die Jugendlichen auf Schatzsuche gehen, wobei sich Gastschüler Urs (Phil Laude) dabei alles andere als fair verhält. Er ist ein Macho und schafft es, Alex von Falkenstein (Louis Held) für seine Gruppe zu gewinnen, Tinas Freund. Das passt den Mädels, die im Gegenzug den französischen Austauschschüler Francois (Tilman Pörzgen) in ihr Team holen, gar nicht – zumal Urs einfach nicht aufhört, blöde Sprüche zu reißen und fragwürdige Methoden anzuwenden. Ungünstig, dass Bibi ihre Zauberkraft ausgerechnet dann verliert, als sie besonders wichtig ist…
- Spotlight (comedy drama, 128 mins, in English). Directed by Thomas McCarthy and starring Mark Ruffalo, Rachel McAdams, Michael Keaton, Liev Schreiber. The true story of how the Boston Globe uncovered the massive scandal of child molestation and cover-up within the local Catholic Archdiocese, shaking the entire Catholic Church to its core.
- Les Chevaliers Blancs (drama, 112 mins, in French). Directed by Joachim Lafosse and starring Valérie Donzelli, Reda Kateb, Louise Bourgoin, Vincent Lindon. Jacques Arnault, président de l'ONG "Move for kids", a convaincu des familles françaises en mal d'adoption de financer une opération d'exfiltration d'orphelins d'un pays d'Afrique dévasté par la guerre. Entouré d'une équipe de bénévoles dévoués à sa cause, il a un mois pour trouver 300 enfants en bas âge et les ramener en France. Mais pour réussir, il doit persuader ses interlocuteurs africains et les chefs de village qu'il va installer un orphelinat et assurer un avenir sur place à ces jeunes victimes de guerre, dissimulant le but ultime de son expédition...
