Details: BOOMWHAKALAA Music Show to Celebrate Dutch School's 10th Anniversary

The Dutch School in Luxemburg celebrates its 10th anniversary on 2 March 2013 with a Dutch Caribbean group giving a family concert at the Abbeye the Neumünster, open to the Luxembourg public.

2 March at 15:00 - BOOMWHAKALAA! is a cheerful spectacle for young and old, with drums and rhythms from around the world. Everyone can participate with the  "Boomwhackers": colorful plastic tubes used to make music. The show is full of skits and Caribbean songs, so it will be impossible to stay put. As if the Antillean islands had landed here in Luxembourg for a swinging afternoon.

Roël Calister‘s group of Antillean-­‐Dutch drummer / percussionist comes to Luxembourg to mark the 10th anniversary of the Dutch School; NTC Luxembourg. The group uses familiar and less well known instruments; congas to cajon, udu and pandeiro, in a swinging mix. The concert is a truely interactive explosion of percussion with unprecedented sounds and sing along songs for everyone. This festive show is open for everybody in Luxembourg. Knowledge of Dutch is recommended, but not necessary – music is a language everyone can understand.

Roël Calister is founder and front man of the  band. A characteristic of this Antillean  drummer / percussionist is his power to mix different tyles tastefully. He brings pop, rock, latin and jazz with traditional folk and world music elements together.

Organised by the NTC Luxembourg asbl in co-operation with the Abbaye de Neumunster.

Suitable for children from 4-12 years (1 brother/sister U4 years is free with one paying adult (stiing on lap).

The performance is on Saturday 2 March at 15:00 in the Salle Robert Krieps.
