Details: This Sunday 8 November, the Anglican Church of Luxembourg will hold its annual Service of Remembrance at the Konvikt Chapel (5 Avenue Marie-Thérèse, Luxembourg-ville).
While the service itself starts at 11:00, and in order to observe the Silence correctly, all members of the congregation are asked to be in their places by 10:50, so that the Act of Remembrance may begin at 10:55.
Each year the annual Act of Remembrance seems more poignant, and increasingly relevant.
Parents are asked to take young children directly to Junior Church downstairs. Older children who can understand something of the significance of what is happening are welcome to be part of the Silence.
Poppies will be available outside the Chapel, along with the collection box to receive donations for the Poppy Appeal.
A Holy Communion (Said) will also take place this Sunday, at the regular time of 09:30 at the same location.
