Details: The Pascal Schumacher quarter and the Michel Reis quartet will both perform on Thursday 17 September 2015 at 20:00 in the Salle Robert Krieps at the Abbaye de Neumunster in Luxembourg-Grund within the Radio Jazz Research initiative, showcasing Luxembourg zazz.

The concert will close the Radio Jazz Research seminar. This association established in Cologne (Köln) brings together journalists, musicologists and developers who have one thing in common: a passion for jazz. It meets regularly throughout the continent to promote sharing of information and opinions among its members and invited guests and in order to encourage research on jazz and its modes of presentation in the media.

The results of these workshops will in turn help to develop the skills of journalists and musicologists. Radio Jazz Research has also launched, in 2006, the Jazzahead! festival in Bremen that quickly became a meeting place for the European jazz network and meanwhile is even considered the largest such event dedicated to jazz music in the world.

On Thursday it will be the first time Radio Jazz Research Seminar will be held in Luxembourg with the collaboration of the music export office music:LX and the Abbaye de Neumunster. The meeting will end with music, from 20:00, with two showcases (open to the public) each of 50 minutes from the Luxembourg jazz scene: the Pascal Schumacher Quartet & Michel Reis Quartet.

Pascal Schumacher presents his latest opus, Left Tokyo Right. This album is the result of regular tours the vibraphonist has made in Japan since 2012. Incorporating the influences of Japanese culture, Pascal Schumacher was inspired by the Japanese concept of "wabi sabi" that combines harmony and disorder. The album was recorded with members of his old quartet: Franz von Chossy (piano), Jens Duppe (drums) and Pol Belardi (bass).

Then will feature the talented pianist Michel Reis and his group of some of the best jazz musicians of the German scene: Robert Landfermann (bass), Jonas Burgwinkel (drums) and Stefan Karl Schmid (saxophones and clarinet). A perfect example of international jazz musician, Michel Reis was born in Luxembourg, undertook much of his studies in the United States and performs around the globe. On this occasion the audience will (re) discover the works of his latest album, Capturing This Moment.
