Details: In light of the fast-approaching 7 June Referendum, the 5vir 12 initiative will be organising a roundtable debate on foreigner voting rights from a younger generation-perspective, on Tuesday 5 May from 18:30.
On 7 June, the Luxembourg population will have the opportunity to decide on the foreigner right to vote, which is essential in addressing the future development of the country. The event will give a chance for young people to express their views on the issue – with a member of the youth movement from the four main local political parties debating the issue.
The evening’s programme is below:
18:30-18:50: Mrs. Cátia Gonçalves – on her research peper entitled: “Right to Vote for All and Democratic Legitimacy. The case of Luxembourg”
18:50-19:30: Roundtable Debate – moderated by Mrs. Isa Keryjaouen, lawyer, assistant at University of Nantes and supervisor for Cátia’s paper

19:30-19:45: Q&A Session – members of the audience will have the chance to voice their opinions on the issue via an electronic voting system
