Community Discussion and Book Launch with Rabbi Mendel Edelman

Rabbi Mendel Edelman will be leading the discussion in what is sure to be a very interesting evening.

Critics and historians are abuzz about acclaimed author Joseph Telushkin's engaging new biography. The only rabbi to have received the Congressional Gold Medal and for whom an American national day was proclaimed in his honour, Rabbi Schneerson is widely credited with breathing new life and vitality into a decimated Jewish People after the holocaust, completely transforming the landscape of Jewish life.

The Rebbe's teachings about the inherent goodness of all mankind, along with the infinite potential of every individual and each good deed, boldly redefined Judaism's role in the world at large and left a lasting impact on all of humanity.

The late rabbi crafted more than 250 volumes of extraordinary scholarly erudition, kept abreast of modern advances in science and medicine, was consulted by world leaders, advised Israel on its military affairs, and created the world's largest Jewish organization - yet he was shy, lived frugally, considered the 3,000 year-old Torah to be the most relevant document today, repeatedly rebuffed adulation and focus on his person, and met personally with tens of thousands of individual men, women and children of all backgrounds from across the globe - while corresponding with many more.

Join Rabbi Mendel Edelman of Chabad-Lubavitch of Luxembourg for a lively discussion and Q&A about the private life and principles of leadership of this public yet fiercely-private man that have only now come to light in Telushkin's acclaimed book.

Publisher's Weekly and B&N reviewed Telushkin's Rebbe enthusiastically, while Booklist's starred review raved!
