Details: The Luxembourgish Estonian Society (LES) is organising another concert of an Estonian choir in the Protestant Church in Luxembourg city (5 rue de la Congrégation) on Sunday, 1 June 2014, at 19:30. The Children’s Music Studio of Estonian Radio (founded in 1945) has 3 choirs: preparatory choir, young children’s choir and children’s choir, all working with Kadri Hunt (chief conductor and artistic director), Kaie Tanner (conductor), Anu Aimla (vocal coach), Svea Sööt and Pille Allik (dance teacher). One of the main tasks for Estonian Radio choirs is recording children’s and youth music by Estonian composers. By today they have released 12 CDs, latest one is double CD „Lauluveski“ / Songmill (will be presented December 13th this year). Now the choir is recording for their next CD with children’s and youth choir songs by Priit Pajusaar, which will be released at the end of 2014. Estonian Radio Children’s Choir has toured both in Estonia and abroad: Latvia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, USA, Poland and UK. Since 2007 they have participated in all Estonian Song Celebrations. Children’s choir has given several concerts in co-operation with professional concert agencies and festival organisers, as Eesti Kontsert, Viru Folk and Jazzkaar; and they regularly record for Estonian Television and Estonian Radio. Estonian Radio Children’s Choir has successfully participated in several international festivals in competitions: 3rd prize in children’s choirs’ category in international choir festival in Llangollen 2013, 2nd prizes in children choirs’ and folk-jazz-pop categories in the 3rd International Choir Festival in Krakow in 2012. The repertoire of Estonian Radio Children’s Choir ranges from medieval music to contemporary works, folk programs with choreography and pop-jazz music.
The concert will feature the Estonian Radio Children's Choir conducted by Kadri Hunt and Kaie Tanner, and the Choir of Estonian Children in Luxembourg, conducted by Anneli Aken.
The concert programme iscludes contemporary choral music by Veljo Tormis, Einojuhani Rautavaara, Margo Kõlar, Riho Esko Maimets, Arne Oit, Kadri Hunt, Priit Pajusaar, Ülo Vinter, Märt Hunt.
