Details: This year's Printemps des Poetes is being held from 25 to 27 April in Luxembourg.
Under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of National Education, the the edition of the annual event also has the support of numerous embassies in Luxembourg, with poets from many different countries converging in the Grand Duchy to participate in this cultural event.
This year is the first time that the UK is participating in this poetry festiva; Gillian Clarke, the National Poet for Wales, will be participating.
The official opening is taking place on Friday 25 April 2014 at the Kulturfabrik (116 rue de Luxembourg, Esch-sur-Alzette) from 19:00, with a series of readings from 20:00, interspersed with music by the Loris Binot Trio.
On Saturday 26 April at the Abbaye de Neumunster in Luxembourg-Grund, the Grande Nuit de la poésie will commence at 19:30 in the Salle Nic Klecker, with poetry readings from 20:00 and music by Emmanuel Fleitz. From 22:00, the event will include "video mapping" and live music in the Jardin du Cloitre. Following a buffet break at 22:30, a "poetic jam session" will take place from 23:00 in the Brasserie de Neumunster.
On Sunday 27 April at the Galerie Simoncini (6 rue Notre Dame, Luxembourg city) from 11:00 - 13:00, there will be additional poetry readings with music by Emmanuel Fleitz.
In addition, on the fringe, an event will take place on Sunday 4 May 2014 at 17:00 at the Salle Robert Krieps at the Abbaye de Neumunster, with a presentation of "Nocturnes", featuring poems inspired by Nocturnes by Frédéric Chopin, with René Welter.
