Details: The Gala des Etoiles Renaissance dance gala is being held on Saturday 3 May 2014 at the Grand Theatre in Luxembourg-Limpersberg, and on Sunday 4 May 2014 at 20:00 at Trifolion in Echternach, sponsored by East-West United Bank (EWUB) in Luxembourg, and under the high patronage of Maggy Nagel, Minister of Culture.
After the success of the first edition in 2013, DanceXperience asbl has announced details of the 2014 edition of the Gala des Etoiles, from the Villa Foch, headquaters of the East-West United Bank which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
Initially the bank has planned festivities to celebrate its 40th anniversary in Luxembourg, but were postponed to next year due to the Ukrainian crisis. However, support for the "Gala des Etoiles" has been maintained. The bank's management has decided to offer this unique cultural event to its friends in Luxembourg, including officials, partners and lovers of classical dance.
East-West United Bank, established in Luxembourg since 1974, has long been the only Russian bank in Luxembourg; it includes in its mission the promotion of the Russian language and culture. The bank is also supporting several projects such as the Russian School "Kalinka", the rhythmic gymnastics club "Rythmo Cats" and the Russian Charity Ball. Therefore, it is natural that the bank has chosen to become a partner of the Gala des Etoiles; in 2013, EWUB graciously offered tickets for the shows to students of the three music conservatories in Luxembourg.

This show is unique of its kind in Luxembourg, and will seduce you by the richness of works proposed as well as by the exceptional quality of the guest artists performing classical dance at the highest level. The gala includes the stars of Europe's most prestigious ballet, the Wiener Staatsballett, the Berlin State Ballet, The Dutch National Ballet in Amsterdam, the Zürich Ballet, the Bayerisches Staatsballett München and the Royal Ballet London.
The programme will consist of Grands Pas-de-Deux and Solo excerpts from classical and neo-classical repertoires from great Russian ballets. The musical accompaniment is provided by Igor Zapravdin, pianist for the Vienna State Opera. Whether you enjoy or want to discover dance, the Gala des Etoiles is the opportunity to experience unique moments of emotion with exceptional artists.
Master Class
A Master Class with Larisa Lezhnina, principal dancer at The Dutch National Ballet Amsterdam, and with pianist Igor Zapravdin of the Vienna State Opera, is being held on 2 May at the Dance Studio of the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg. Participation is free.
