Details: The Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO) has announced that Mike & The Mechanics will perform at the 24th annual Rock um Knuedler outdoor rock festival on Place Guillaume II on Sunday 6 July 2014.
The annual festival will be held at the Place Guillaume II and Place Clairefontaine, in the centre of Luxembourg City. This summer, the headline act, Mike & The Mechanics, will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the release of their cult album "Living Years" with a trans-European tour which includes Luxembourg.
This free concert promises to be the highlight of the festival season in Luxembourg and is ecpected to attract many fans from across the Greater Region; each year, the festival attracts 15,000 music lovers, with Rock um Knuedler offering 10 hours of concerts on three stages. The festival is part of the backbone of the "Summer in the City" summer programme organised by the LCTO.
Mike & The Mechanics have marked the history of British pop-rock. Besides the album "The Living Years", hits like "Silent Running," " All I Need Is A Miracle", "Word Of Mouth", "Another Cup Of Coffee" and "Over My Shoulder" are successes that have laid the foundation for their careers during which the group has sold over 10 million albums.
Mike Rutherford, founder of the group Mike & The Mechanics was also the origin of the legendary band Genesis.
In Luxembourg, the cult band will appear with the following musicians: Mike Rutherford (guitar, bass), Andrew Roachford (vocals, keyboards), Tim Howar (vocals), Luke Juby (keyboards), Anthony Drennan (guitar) and Gary Wallis (drums).
