Details:
The United Instruments of Lucilin has announced that its “33.7” festival will take place on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 January 2025 at the Kulturfabrik in Esch-sur-Alzette.
United Instruments of Lucilin, founded in 1999, is reported to be the only Luxembourgish chamber music ensemble specialising in contemporary music. After the success of its 2022 edition, which offered 2022 minutes (or 33.7 hours) of music, inspired by the cultural diversity of Esch2022, the 2025 edition will have a selection of 1,500 works presented over the 25 seasons of Lucilin.
The two-day festival is described by the band as “a festival to explore musical worlds”. The programme includes: concerts with Nik Bohnenberger, Pol Belardi, Samuel Hamen, Hy-Khang Dang and Georges Sadeler; screenings with Catherine Kontz, Camille Kerger, Alexander Müllenbach and Tatsiana Zelianko, among others; workshops (for seven to ten year olds) led by Christelle Bertringer and Klar Obscur; an installation by Elsa Biston; and a live cinema where “archival films and contemporary compositions paint a portrait of a bygone Luxembourg”.
Admission to the event is free. Programme times are 11:00-23:00 on Saturday 25 January and 09:00-13:00 on Sunday 26 January.
