Details:
The 2024 edition of the traditional Red Cross Bazaar will take place this year on Saturday 30 November and Sunday 1 December 2024, from 10:00 to 18:00 both days, in the marquee on the Glacis car-park in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg.
A wide variety of stalls and goods awaits visitors, from design and art objects, original flea market finds and stylish second-hand clothing, to bags and many other handcrafts.
At the Food Village, one can relax while tasting delicious dishes and enjoying the friendly atmosphere.
Young visitors can also look forward to an exciting programme with many activities: in the play area, provided by the Red Cross Crèches and Maisons Relais service, children can play and enjoy themselves. In the meantime, parents will have the opportunity to chat with other parents in a relaxed atmosphere in a space set up by the Lokale Familljentreff” (LOFT).
The Rescue Team of the Red Cross Youth will also be present and will give children and adolescents a practical overview of first aid.
Another highlight will be the Christmas gift campaign of the Red Cross Youth, where a large Christmas tree decorated by young people and artists from the Hariko art houses in Esch-sur-Alzette and Ettelbruck will host Christmas baubles, arranged and donated by visitors. Each bauble will symbolise a gift made for children in need, who would not otherwise receive one. In addition, children can take part in a drawing competition at this stand and could win a holiday camp.
Kleeschen is scheduled to make an appearance on the Sunday, at 11:00 and 15:00.
All proceeds from this weekend's event will be used to support needy children and young people in Luxembourg and around the world.
"This involves, for example, offering children and young people in need the opportunity to take part in a holiday camp organised by the Red Cross Youth Society - something they would otherwise not be able to experience. Or providing social, educational and psychological support to young unaccompanied refugees or refugee families living in local housing structures, thanks to our teams and initiatives on site. We are committed to providing opportunities for these underprivileged children in Luxembourg and around the world and helping them build a better future for themselves," emphasized Anne Reuland, president of the Luxembourg City local section and organizer of the Bazaar.
