Details:

The NETWORK, an established Luxembourg-based international professional women's association, is organising a special film screening at Ciné Utopia in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg on Wednesday 13 November 2024 at 18:00.

Breathing Underwater is being screened to mark the start of the UN Women's international "Orange the World" campaign, which kicks off each year on 25 November, on the occasion of International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

The chosen film is an emotional drama that tells the story of Emma, who arrives at a shelter for women in distress in the middle of the night. In this new environment, Emma rediscovers facets of herself that she had buried, thanks to the bonds and unlikely friendships she forms with a group of women and children. Their individual traumas intertwine, and despite their differences, a delicate sisterhood emerges, driving them all to fight to regain their dignity and independence.

After the film, a Q&A session is planned with members of the filmmaking team, including the director and the main actress. The Ambassadors of Romania and Cape Verde to Luxembourg, and Ana Pinto, the President of the association La Voix des Survivantes will also be present.

This event is free for members and €20 for non-members. The event is open to men as well as women. To register, visit the Eventbrite page.
