Details:
The Orchestre de Chambre du Luxembourg (OCL) is putting on a concert with Cathy Krier as part of the Rainy Days Festival at the Philharmonie Luxembourg on Saturday 23 November 2024 at 21:30.
The OCL will make its Rainy Days Festival debut at the Philharmonie with a concert that is the culmination of a day of events centred on the piano in all its forms. Back to back, soloist Cathy Krier and the OCL tackle Ligeti's virtuosic and polymetric piano concerto, followed by Liam Dougherty's Blackness, Structures, Exteriors, in which the instrument will speak, essentially without a pianist. The programme is rounded out by a new two-part work by Catherine Kontz, Bookends, which focuses on the relationships between anticipation, physical movements and sound.
Conceived as a whole, this hour-long programme aims to redefine the concept of the piano concerto within this year’s festival theme of "Extremes", under the expert eye of conductor Naomi Woo.
Tickets cost €22 for a day pass and €58 for a festival pass; €1.50 with a Kulturpass. See: https://ocl.lu/en/evenement/festival-rainy-days-avec-cathy-krier
