Details: The annual Kick Cancer into Touch (KCIT) charity fund-raising tournament which has branched out into a golf event too, has become so successful that those behind the initiative have decided to launch a summer touch rugby league on Sunday from the end of May until the end of July.
The first such round is on Sunday 26 May, with the others scheduled for 2 June, 16 June, 23 June, 30 June, 7 July, 21 July and 28 July. Matches will be played between 10:30 and 12:00 – teams are advised to assemble at 10:00 at the venue, the Stade Michel Wagner in Weimerskirch (1 rue de Sainth-Vith, L-2673 Luxembourg-Weimerskirch).
Games are played according to the rules of the Federation of International Touch (FIT) with following exceptions: 1) Games 14 minutes (7 minutes per half); 2) Teams are requested to field at least two Ladies (Teams failing to do so will be penalised two scores [points] per match); 3) Teams with four or more Ladies will be awarded two bonus scores [points] per match; 4) Teams with one or more children under 13 will be awarded two bonus scores [points] per match; 5) Children under 9 are not permitted to play but are welcome to be team helpers and vocal supporters. Teams will score four points for a Win, two points for a Draw and one point for a Loss.
Although a minimum of six players per team is required, teams are advised to bring substitutes! the organisers have stated "If you cannot raise six players we still encourage you to participate and we will find you a team!"
On the final day of the Corporate League (28 July), the team gaining the most points over the eight weeks will be declared the Winner (Prizes to be awarded).
