This year's City Nature Challenge (CNC) is taking place in Luxembourg on Friday 26 to Monday 29 April 2024.
Launched as a competition in Los Angeles and San Francisco in 2016, the CNC has become an international event (in 500+ regions).
In Luxembourg, the event is being coordinated by the National Museum of Natural History (MNHN / naturmusée) and its partners, with findings being documented via the iNaturalist mobile application.
The 2024 CNC will take place in two parts: taking pictures of wild plants and animals from 26 to 29 April and then, from 30 April to 5 May, identifying what was found. The results will be announced on Monday 6 May 2024.
Among the local events planned during this period, Ramborn Cider Co., the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), the Mullerthal Nature and Geopark and Bee Together are co-organising free nature-related activities on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 April 2024, from 11:00 to 18:00.
