After last year’s success, Théâtre du Centaure in Luxembourg-Ville is putting on additional performances of the English-language play, Blackbird, on several dates in November and on Friday 1 December 2023.

Directed by Luxembourgish actress-director Myriam Muller, Blackbird is based on Scottish playwright David Harrower's 2005 play. It features Jil Devresse and Jules Werner, local actors renowned for their roles in the Luxembourgish TV series Capitani.

This is a co-production between Théâtre du Centaure and CAPE - Centre des Arts Pluriels Ettelbruck. It features music by Claire Parsons, lighting design by Antoine Colla and costumes and set design by Anouk Schiltz.

The play follows Una, a woman in her twenties, who makes an unexpected appearance at Ray's workplace after a fifteen-year hiatus. A photograph of him in a trade magazine, looking content, served as the catalyst for her sudden visit. The last encounter they shared was when she was twelve, and he was 40, and they had a "relationship". Since then, they have not crossed paths. In a compelling dialogue, each takes their turn unveiling how their lives have been tumultuously transformed, exposed to the scrutiny and opinions of others.

Blackbird is set to be performed at Théâtre du Centaure on Saturday 25, Sunday 26, Tuesday 28, Thursday 30 November and Friday 1 December at 18:30. The play will take place at 18:30 on Thursdays and Sundays and at 20:00 on all other days.
