Details: The British Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg is organising a luncheon on Friday 24 May 2013 from 12:00 at La Table du Belvedere (4 place de l'Europe).
The title of the presentation will be "Does the end of banking secrecy mean the end of the Luxembourg financial sector?" and will be delivered by guest speaker André Hoffmann, Partner at Elvinger, Hoss & Prussen.
André Hoffmann, graduated with a "maître en droit" from the University of Strasbourg (France). After initial experience at the Luxembourg Bar in 1984, he joined one of the major Luxembourg banks where he headed the Legal and Tax department before joining Elvinger, Hoss & Prussen as a partner in February 2006.
His experience of more than 20 years in the banking industry allowed him to gain extensive expertise in banking, finance, and corporate law as well as in regulatory issues. He has intensively practised mergers and acquisitions and restructurings on a local and cross-border basis.
André lectures on banking law in the Masters in European Law (European banking and finance law) at Luxembourg University. He was a member of the committee of lawyers with the regulator of the financial sector (CSSF) and of the board of directors of the bankers association (ABBL) and he chaired the Luxembourg association of banking lawyers (ALJB). He is a member of the legal committee with the Central Bank of Luxembourg (BCL).
