Details: The Folk-Clupp Lëtzebuerg is organis a concert on Wednesday 8 May 2013 featuring Fil Campbell & Tom McFarland (Ireland) at the KULTURHAUS NIEDERANVEN in Niederanven (145, route de Trèves) from 20:00.
Fil Campbell and Tom McFarland are a husband and wife duo from Co. Down in Ireland who performs a mixed programme of traditional and contemporary Irish songs accompanied by guitar and percussion. They present a lively fun evening of old and new material with plenty of choruses to give audiences lots of opportunities to join in.
Fil and Tom have been regular performers on the UK folk circuit since the mid 1990s and have played at some of the most prestigious folk clubs in both Scotland and England.
Fil has just released her sixth solo CD - "A Place of My Own" - which is produced by Tom and is a further collection of popular Irish folk songs first recorded in the 30s and 40s by women singers. The material from these albums forms the basis of their folk club set while also dipping into some of the contemporary songs from the earlier CDs.
