Details: The 186th annual Éimaischen takes place this year on Easter Monday, Monday 1 April 2013, in Luxembourg's city centre.
As every year, the Easter festivities herald the arrival of traditional Éimaischen market with its famous "Peckvillercher" (ceramic bird whistles) which takes place on Easter Monday between 08:00 and 18:00 in the historic streets of the old city, around the Grand Ducal Palace.
The day will be hosted by the Prince Guillaume Belair School Theater that will present the piece "D’Mumm Séiss" by the Luxembourg author Dicks, on the Place d'Armes at 10:30 and 11:30, as well as various folk groups involving singing, dancing and performing music on the forecourt of the National Museum of History and Art, especially at 09:30, 10:20 and 11:00.
Also, the Centre for educational and recreation activities (Capel) are organising a Grünholzwerkstatt workshop that allows big and small to learn woodworking in different ways: The workshop will be held from 10:00 to 17:00 on the Place Guillaume II and participation is free.
