On Tuesday 14 July 2026, Luxembourg's Brasserie Nationale, also known as the Bofferding Brewery, announced that three of its beers were recognised among the top international entries at the 2026 Meininger's Finest Beer Selection, each receiving a score of at least 90 out of 100.
According to the brewery, Bofferding Sans Alcool received 91 out of 100 points, while Bofferding Pils and Battin Gambrinus each scored 90 out of 100 at this year's competition.
"These awards recognise the daily work of Brasserie Nationale's teams and highlight the quality of beers brewed according to traditional methods using 100% natural ingredients, without additives or preservatives," stated Brasserie Nationale.
Organised annually in Germany by Meininger Verlag in partnership with the Doemens Academy, one of the world's leading institutions for brewing education, research and expertise, the Meininger's Finest Beer Selection brings together an international jury of brewing experts, beer sommeliers and professional tasters.
The competition assesses beers through blind tastings, with judges evaluating criteria including appearance, aroma, flavour balance, technical quality and overall impression. Scores of more than 90 points "represent a high level of recognition”.
Maurice Treinen, Production Director at Brasserie Nationale, welcomed the recognition: "Receiving this recognition from an international jury is a tremendous satisfaction for all our teams. Seeing our beers score more than 90 points confirms the precision, passion and high standards of our master brewers.” He added: “It is also a wonderful achievement for a Luxembourg brewery that continues to showcase its expertise well beyond the country's borders."
