Luxembourg's Economic Committee has confirmed that it recently granted requests for short-time work for 10,874 employees for the month of December 2021.

The Economic Committee met on Tuesday 23 November 2021 under the chairmanship of Luxembourg's Minister of the Economy, Franz Fayot.

In November, the committee granted 616 requests for short-time work for the month of December 2021.

Among these requests, 534 are related to simplified structural economic problems linked to COVIDd-19. 61 others are from the manufacturing sector, whilst 20 relate to the floods of 14-15 July 2021 and are considered to be a case of force majeure. One request relates to economic dependence.

The granted requests for the month of December concern 10,874 full-time employees. 

The Economic Committee also approved one job retention plan.

Moreover, the committee granted one request for tax exemption from voluntary termination indemnities. This request concerns seven people.
