Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CARE Luxembourg and IMS Luxembourg have adapted their "dayCARE / Digital Explorer" initiative to offer businesses and young participants a digital option.

In 2019, 93 companies and 240 interns participated in dayCARE / Digital Explorer and, despite the complicated sanitary conditions at the start of the 2020 school year, the interest of companies and schools remains intact. At the same time, unemployment among young people under 25 increased by almost 50% during the health crisis, according to the ADEM employment agency.

In this context, CARE Luxembourg and IMS Luxembourg are offering, for the first time, the option of doing dayCARE / Digital Explorer internships digitally. Each company can therefore choose to offer digital or traditional internships depending on the context and environment of the company. Concretely, as part of dayCARE, on 28 October 2020, students from 19 Luxembourg high schools will be able to do a discovery internship in a company of their choice. The latter will reward the commitment of young people with a donation to the CARE non-profit organisation with the aim of ensuring the training of young midwives in Niger and Laos.

With this adapted formula, dayCARE aims to bring together companies wishing to engage socially and young people, curious to discover the world of work.

Companies can now register on the site www.daycare.lu and define the form of the internship on offer, as well as the profile of the interns they are looking for.
