The number of jobseekers registered with the ADEM in Luxembourg has increased by 0.5% over one year.

As of 30 April 2019, the number of available jobseekers registered with the ADEM was 15,453. Over one year, this represents an increase of 84 people, or 0.5%. This increase can be explained by the inclusion of beneficiaries of the Social Inclusion Income (REVIS), following the entry into force of the new law in this area.

The number of available non-resident jobseekers registered with the ADEM was 2,525 at the end of April 2019, a decrease of 4.4% compared to April 2018. The number of non-resident jobseekers with reduced work capacity decreased by 5.5%.

In the course of April 2019,  opened 2,200 new applications from resident jobseekers, an increase of 26.2% compared to April 2018. In addition, 528 new applications from non-resident jobseekers were opened, which represents an increase of 117.3% over one year.

Meanwhile, the total number of beneficiaries of employment benefits in Luxembourg was 4,283 at the end of April 2019. Over one year, this represents a drop of 109 people, or 2.5%.

During the month of April 2019, employers reported 3,336 vacancies to the ADEM, which equated to 70 or 2.1% more posts than in April 2018.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate calculated by STATEC was 5.4%.
