On 10 and 11 November 2015, the Ministry of Labour, Employment and the Social and Solidarity Economy will be bringing together policymakers, social partners and experts to discuss the digital economy and employment challenges.
The conference, taking place at the Alvisse Parc Hotel, will address the theme of digital transformation and its impact on the world of work, as well as answers in terms of public policies and the role of the European Social Fund (ESF) in this respect.
The agenda will be principally structured around three questions, these being: What are the consequences of the digital transformation on the creation and/or destruction of jobs?; how should we react to this challenge?; and how can the European Social Fund by used to maximise the growth potential of the digital economy by investing in the skills of the labour force?
The aim of the conference is to illustrate and assess the impact of the digital transformation on employment from different perspectives; provide policymakers present with an on-site demonstration of a series of digital innovations; identify public policies which strengthen the creation and adaptation of employment; and exchange the best ESF resource use practices in terms of investment in skills and job creation.
