Cactus supermarket announced yesterday that its Human Resources Directorate has joined the Kliber network, the communication tool which connects job seekers with their potential recruiters via video.
Realisinh that the majority of young people in Luxembourg seeking employment are in constant contact on their mobile phone networks, Nathalie Dondeliner and Jonathan Levi co-founded the start-up which was first made available on 1 July 2015.
Following a simple download from the App Store, users looking to recruite personnel are able to publish their staff requirements and present their companies, whilst interested candidates are asked to answer four questions related to the position and present themselves in a short video.
This simple visual link between employer and employee has enticed many leading companies in Luxembourg such as Banque International à Luxembourg (BIL), and now Cactus.
"This first visual contact through the video is a valuable time saver for us, who regularly looks at junior profiles," explained Director of Human Resources at Cactus, Robert Faymonville. "At Cactus, beyong the training and experience of a candidate, the personality is a decisive aspect. We prioritise an underlying element, called life skills, which greatly contribute to our corporate culture. We can glimpse this most subjective aspect in the presentation where the candidate reveals the 'who they are' which is fundamental to our business.
"It also often happens that we lose out on a talent because their CV does not convince us. This is is why to discover and hear them express themselves is an advantage. This interactive recruitment method opens new perspectives and, with this first step taken, the traditional recruitment procedures take over. Cactus is constantly recruiting talents, with this new modern tool, we hope to convince the young people of Luxembourg and the Greater Region to apply at Cactus, which offers very dynamic careers".
