A total of 661 apprentices from various sectors in Luxembourg have received their diplomas and certificates.
Luxembourg's Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Employees, the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth and the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social and Solidarity Economy awarded 661 diplomas and certificates attesting to apprenticeship in the commercial, industrial, hotel and catering, service and social-educational sectors.
An additional 41 apprentices received their “Promotion du Travail” certificates for having particularly distinguished themselves through their efforts.
The health crisis did not allow the organisation of a formal graduation ceremony. Instead, Carlo Thelen, Director General of the Chamber of Commerce, Nora Back, President of the Chamber of Employees, Claude Meisch, Minister of Education, Children and Youth, and Dan Kersch, Minister of Labour, Employment and Social and Solidarity Economy, addressed the winners of the 2020 class as part of a video message.
Despite the unusual circumstances linked to the COVID-19 pandemic, the results of the 2020 class remained encouraging with an average success rate of 89.09% in the final integrated project of the Vocational Aptitude Diploma (Diplôme d'aptitude professionnelle - DAP) and Vocational Capacity Certificate (Certificat de Capacité Professionnelle – CCP) training programmes.
The Chamber of Commerce also registered 987 new contracts for the 2020/2021 school year. More than 1,900 active contracts are currently co-managed by the Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Employees.
