Luxair has announced it achieved a historic milestone by transporting over 2.5 million passengers for the first time in 2023.

This achievement represented a 22% increase compared to the two million passengers in 2022, and also surpassed the pre-COVID-19 figures of 2019, when two million passengers were transported from Luxembourg airport.

This record performance for Luxair not marked a return to and exceeded pre-health crisis passenger volumes, highlighting a robust recovery and growth trajectory and showing that the quality offered by Luxair as a full-service carrier is well received among its customers in Luxembourg and the Greater Region.

Luxair currently offers 94 destinations across 33 countries. In 2023, Luxair enhanced its route network, adding destinations such as Pescara, Ljubljana, Milan Linate, La Palma and Praia. These new routes opened up unique travel opportunities for vacationers, business travellers and explorers alike.

Pescara is a picturesque Italian coastal city, renowned for its beaches and historic charm. This destination saw winter services operating twice weekly. In the summer, the frequency increased, providing more opportunities to explore Pescara's allure.

Starting September 14th, Luxair connected travellers to the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana, in just two hours. Flights operated twice a week, offering a getaway to this city of historical discoveries and natural beauty.

Starting on 29 October 2023, Luxair added its sixteenth Italian destination - Milan Linate. This route, operating on weekends, complemented the existing Milan – Malpensa service, allowing passengers fast access to Milan's city centre.

Starting on 9 November 2023, Luxair expanded its Canary Islands service with a weekly flight to La Palma, UNESCO's biosphere reserve known as "La Isla Bonita".

For the 2023 Christmas season, Luxair introduced flights to Praia in Cape Verde. This seasonal route, operating from 18 December 2023 to 9 January 2024 catered to the Cape Verdean community in Luxembourg and the surrounding region.

Luxair has announced two new destinations for 2024: Manchester and Brač. Starting 29 March, Luxair will offer three weekly flights to Manchester, enhancing the connectivity between Luxembourg and the United Kingdom. Luxair is currently the only airline providing direct services to two UK destinations from Luxembourg, including London-City and now Manchester.

From 4 May 2024, Luxair will introduce weekly flights to the island of Brač in Croatia. Known for its beaches and breathtaking landscapes, Brač is set to become another seaside destination with direct connection from Luxembourg for the 2024 summer season.
