On Monday 11 January 2016, Cargolux announced the appointment of Gerard Ter Bruggen to new Regional Director West and North Europe of the company.

Gerard Ter Bruggen will be bringing 35 years of experience in the airline industry to his new position, covering the Benelux, UK, Scandinavian and Baltic States markets of the Luxembourg-based cargo carrier. Mr. Ter Bruggen's career has taken him through Traffic, Operations, Customer Service and Country Management to operational responsible positions in Sales and Marketing.

Mr Ter Bruggen joins Cargolux from a role as Cargo Manager North and Western Europe at Qatar Airways, following previous roles at Martinair, Pan American World Airways, Dragonair Cargo and Cargo B Airlines.

"We are very pleased to have Gerard in our team of 6 regional directors in Area 2 (Europea, Africa, Middle East and Indian subcontinent)," commented Niek van der Weide, Executive Vice President Sales & Marketing. "His vast experience and excellent contact with the major customers are an important factor and will certainly help Cargolux to further expand and strengthen the relationships with our clients."

Mr. Ter Bruggen took up the new position on 1 January and will be based in Amsterdam.
