As part of the Braderie de Clervaux, RESONORD is organising the 3rd edition of the social and solidarity market, which will take place on 10 September 2017 from 10:00 to 17:00.
The "Don't Be Square_Fair" offers a more local, sustainable and supportive way of consumption. The products exhibited come exclusively from organisations and companies in the social and solidarity economy. Organic vegetables, delicious treats, fair trade clothes, home-made decoration items and other products will go on sale.
The diversity of products produced, for example, in sheltered workshops or through reintegration measures is great. Part of the market this year: ATP asbl - Eilenger Konschtwierk, CNDS - Self-help services, Tricentenaire asbl - Chocolaterie, National Youth Service SNJ - Upcyling, Eeschwëller Haus, Akabobus and Etika.
In addition, throughout the day, a varied programme will be offered: Visitors, young and old alike, can participate in free workshops such as making sandcastles, making butterflies, creating pearl jewellery and others. The "Upcycling", i.e. the transformation of objects from materials which are no longer used in products of quality or superior utility, is also an important topic of the market. You can also observe craftsmen when creating their objects.
For the pleasure of the taste buds, the cook of the web series "Cook & Rate" has been engaged: Fabrizio Annicchiarico will prepare delicious Italian dishes on the spot. For this, he will use vegetables from the "Bio-Geméisgaart" of the CNDS Troisvierges. Next to this Italian foodtruck, there will be a Resonord stand with homemade cakes. The market will be entertained by original musicians.
In order to attract the public's attention to this solidarity market - the only one of its kind in Luxembourg -, the organisers have devised a very special action: hand-crocheted butterflies will be scattered all over Clervaux. Whether on the way to the abbey, along the walking trails all around or in the city centre - the colourful little animals attract the eye and are a hidden clue about the solidarity market "Do not Be Square_Fair".
