The 113th edition of the International Dog Show, organised by the Fédération Cynologique Luxembourgeoise ASBL (FCL), will take place at LuxExpo The Box in Luxembourg-Kirchberg on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 April 2025.
The organisers have described the event, which covers all aspects of dog ownership, as “a showcase for innovative brands promoting animal health and welfare, a platform for exceptional entertainment and a source of information for dog owners and those looking to add a dog to their family”.
The show will host five different World Canine Organisation (Fédération Cynologique Internationale - FCI) groups of dogs each day. On the agenda are expert talks, live performances and photo sessions, among other activities, with products on display in the Dog Village.
Dogs must have a valid European pet passport and an up-to-date vaccination record to enter the following competitions:
- the Certificat d’Aptitude au Championnat International de Beauté (CACIB - Certificate of Aptitude for the International Beauty Championship) is an international dog show certification, recognised by the FCI. This certification assesses a dog’s conformation, movement and overall appearance. It is granted to dogs that meet the high standards set by the FCI. By earning the CACIB certification, a dog may earn the title of International Champion, under certain conditions. This certification, which will take place on Saturday 5 and on Sunday 6 April, is described as a testimony to a dog’s breeding, training and overall quality. It is sought after by breeders, handlers and owners alike;
- the Certificat d’Aptitude au Champion de Luxembourg (CACL) is open to dogs of all breeds, with the aim of determining which dogs are the best representatives of their breed in terms of appearance, temperament, and obedience. During the competition, on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 April, dogs will be judged on a variety of factors, including conformation to breed standards, movement and overall health. The dogs that perform the best in each category are awarded a CACL certificate, which is a highly sought after distinction for both dogs and their owners. Participating in the CACL competition is described as a fun and exciting way for dog owners to showcase the abilities and qualities of their pets, and to connect with other dog enthusiasts from around the country;
- the Youth Championships will take place on both Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 April. In this event, young dogs can showcase their skills and compete for the title of Youth Champion. It gives dogs the opportunity to participate and win on either day. Dogs can demonstrate their agility, obedience and overall abilities. The competition is a platform for young dogs to show off their potential and gain recognition in the canine world;
- the Veteran Championships will celebrate the achievements and talents of older dogs. It will take place on both Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 April. Dogs will have the opportunity to participate and win on either day. This competition allows veteran dogs to demonstrate their continued abilities and prowess in the canine world.
Tickets cost €8 for a one-day pass and €16 for a two-day pass. Children under twelve years of age and dogs can attend free of charge.
