As every year, the stallholders of the Schueberfouer held a press conference on Monday 26 August 2024 in which they talked about the special events that will take place during the course of the Schueberfouer.

Charles Hary, President of the Féderation Nationale des Commerçants Forains (FNCF), took the microphone at Restaurant Kessler, in the heart of the Schueberfouer at Glacis (Luxembourg-Limpertsberg), to outline the special events - which include a special reception for the disadvantaged and street people organised through Stëmm vun der Strooss on Monday. These events continue on:

- Tuesday 27 August 2024 with Mayors' Day, when the mayors of the different municipalities will be given an evening tour of the funfair;

- Wednesday 28 August 2024 with a family day with reduced prices the entire day;

- Thursday 29 August 2024 with the Pageant Queens' evening for all the crowned pageant queens of wine, beer and other talents;

- on Wednesday 4 September 2024 (from 12:00 onwards), Lämmy, the official mascot of the funfair, and other cartoon friends will pose for photos and distribute free tickets for various roundabout rides. They will also distribute tickets for the tombola which will take place on Monday 9 September 2024 at 18:00, at the main entrance of the Schueberfouer;

- Wednesday 11 September 2024 with a half price day for the rides until 20:00; thereafter a closing fireworks display on the Grande-Duchesse Charlotte Bridge at 22:00.

After the press conference, Chronicle.lu caught up with Denise and Philippe (pictured below), who run the Crêperie Bretonne restaurant which has been a fixture of the Schueberfouer for over 50 years. Denise explained that the first weekend had started really positively and that they were expecting it to be a particularly good year. She went on to explain that their stand employs around 25 people, of whom three quarters are students, offering them a summer financial boost, although it is hard work.

For those who like to plan ahead, note that the next two editions of the Schueberfouer will take place from 22 August to 10 September 2025 and from 21 August to 9 September 2026.
