The City of Luxembourg has launched a call for applications for the operation of the new fast food chalet located at 18 Avenue Emile Reuter in the grounds of the Villa Vauban – Museum of Art of the City of Luxembourg, with a view to operating it there from month of May drinks and snacks to take away or consume on site. The concept must highlight the quality of the products, ensure a warm atmosphere and offer menus linked to exhibitions and cultural events organized by Villa Vauban.

Application are open until 15 March 2024; interested parties can now apply either by post to Les 2 Musées de la Ville de Luxembourg, L-2090 Luxembourg, or by email: nracke@2musees.vdl.lu. Application files must include the following documents: extract from the trade and companies register, and a file including a description of one's current or past activity, as well as photos of achievements. 

Among the selection criteria are the availability of candidates as well as the originality and quality of the menus offered. 

Practical arrangements and technical details

The chalet located in the park has a total area of approximately 5m2. An electricity connection is provided; however, no water point is provided. The menus offered in the form of "small catering" must be related to the theme of the current exhibition. The operator undertakes to be present during the museum's opening hours from 1 May to mid-October. No logo or decoration of the operator may be displayed. The operator must comply with the provisions of the “Green Event” charter during events labelled as such. Before taking over the premises, the operator is obliged to take out insurance covering civil liability for the duration of the operation.

The maximum rental period is three years. In view of the aforementioned restrictive conditions, no monthly rent is foreseen for the duration of operation.
