The Comité pour une paix juste au Proche-Orient asbl (CPJPO; Committee for Fair Peace in the Middle East) has announced it will organise a Marche Gourmande Alternative" (MGA - alternative gourmet walk) at the Schlaifmillen Résidence d’Artistes in Luxembourg-Hamm on Sunday 15 October 2023 from 10:00.

The MGA is an initiative organised for the first time in 2016 thanks to a collaboration between several development cooperation non-profit and environmental organisations as part of their awareness programmes. Since then, the MGA has taken place each year in different locations and takes participants to beautiful natural regions of Luxembourg. On the trails, guests can taste local and seasonal organic food at different stands, while learning something new each time through interactive awareness-raising activities in the areas of sustainable development.

This edition's theme is “art for change”. According to the association, ongoing societal upheavals call for a profound change in behaviour and this cannot happen without a change in culture, imagination and therefore stories to build a liveable future. Faced with the need to inspire solutions for social and ecological challenges inspiring in order to bring about a change of scale and societal transformation, art has a key role to play. Through its ability to speak to as many people as possible, its different styles and formats, it has the possibility of developing the imagination to show and experience sustainable and more socially just societies.

This event will take place on Sunday 15 October at Schlaifmillen 10 Rue Godchaux, L-1643 Luxembourg. Guests will set off to explore the green Alzette river valley on a 7.5-km route. At each of the five stations, there will be an experience an artistic discipline to discover while tasting dishes prepared by La Mesa, Maison de la transition. The path is accessible by stroller for the entire route. However, a part in the woods is quite steep and narrow.

Registration is required. Tickets can be purchased through Luxembourg Ticket: a full price ticket costs €35, tickets for twelve to 25 year olds cost €20 and tickets for children under twelve are free.

From 10:00 to 13:00, groups of twelve will depart every 20 minutes. The hike will then take around three to four hours.
