As every year, the 2023 Schueberfouer has started and it awaits visitors with multiple new rides (and also new food and drinks establishments) in addition to some old crowd favourites; Chronicle.lu has documented the seven new rides below.
Wilde Maus XXL, the exciting travelling classic known from past years at the Schueberfouer was prolonged and improved, offering visitors a wild ride (including looping) complete with a virtual reality journey. The talking fox Dusty and the flying duck Dizzy escape from a farm together and take the audience along on jagged curves and small, fast corners at a top speed of 60 km/h.
Gladiator is a 60-metre-tall looping thrill ride, similar to Airmaxx, to which the Schueberfouer attraction visitors had been accustomed. This is a ride that turns 360°, with three different simultaneous rotations. The speed of the gondola can reach up to 80 km/h.
Airwolf Sky Control (see photo) is a space-themed thrill ride with special light, fog and flight-motion effects which can be manually recombined, making each new ride unique and reminiscent of a space craft.
Big Monster is a beautifully designed ride, with numerous colourful underwater creatures swaying and spinning, illuminated by thousands of LEDs. A number of realistic octopuses adorn this fast-turning carousel.
Petersburger Schlittenfahrt (Petersburg sled ride) is an over 40-year-old carousel, designed to look like a winter wonderland. This is a family-friendly ride turning in circles, with detailed decoration such as ice-blue lighting and thick icicle borders all around, ensuring a pleasant, fairy tale-like atmosphere.
Last, but not least, children can look forward to the colourful soaring Ballonfahrt (balloon ride), spinning slowly upwards in a spiral, in small open cabins shaped like hot-air balloons. Another ride for children is Flying Star, a small carousel with different characters (including a strikingly pink power ranger flying high above the others).
