The 20th annual Gromperefest (Potato Festival) is taking place on Sunday 3 September 2023 in Binsfeld (between Troisvierges and weiswampach, in the north of the Grand Duchy).
Organised by the Musée Rural Binsfeld (8 Elwenterstrooss, L-9946 Binsfeld), the event has something for everyone:
- Competition for children: In three age categories, children can demonstrate their skills and collect many points, to win prizes
- harvest potatoes: Potatoes are taken out of the rows in the field - the soil has been turned by an old tractor or the Ardenner horse. Children take a container to fill it with potatoes and take it home
- Face-painting: with a number of adults painting different designs on children's faces
- Making nesting boxes: In collaboration with nature organisations, children can make a nice box where birds can build a nest. Children can also colour the boxes
And, yes, the food and drink stands also prepare and serve Gromperekichelcher (potato pancakes).
Many people traditionally arrive by tractor... "Oldtimers" (vintage) tractors are welcome at the potato festival (to register, email: gromperefest@pt.lu).

08:00 - 09:30: Registration of tractors on the field
09:30 – 10:30: Coffee and croissant
10:30 – 12:30: Drive through our beautiful Éislécker naturepark with a break along the way
A traditional competition is organised for both girls (to become Potato Queen) and boys (to become Gromperekinik 2023).
