The 14th Discover Luxembourg event took place on Saturday 10 September 2022, with an eight-kilometre route planned from Luxembourg city centre, along the Pétrusse valley, the Grund, a quick diversion to Pulvermühl, then along the River Alzette to Clausen.

Around 30 teams participated in the most recent edition of this popular event, with the Fondation Follereau Luxembourg being the charity supported this year. As in each edition of the event, the teams discovered new things about the city in the areas of culture, history, gastronomy and technology.

Along the route, the teams, which departed every two minutes in a staggered start, visited Delhaize at Hamilius before passing the Villa Pauly, the former Gestapo headquarters during the Second World War, then down into the Pétrusse valley, the stream flowing through which has origins in Dalheim. There are significant works being undertaken in the valley at the moment and the teams learnt about the LUGA (Luxembourg Urban Garden) horticultural exhibition initiative set for 2023 and the related Ons Peitruss initiative which will see the concrete river bed being replaced to support a much richer diversity of flora and fauna and improve nutrient and water-retention levels.

The route then followed the Pétrusse stream joining the River Alzette in the Grund, with teams crossing the city's walled fortifications before following the river to Pulvermühl where a significant new residential project is to be realised. Back to the Grund, then up to the Plateau du Rham and the Tour Jacob, offering magnificent views of the Corniche, the Boch Casemates and Kirchberg. The last leg saw the teams follow the course of the river again, along the boardwalk to the finish at the Parc Mansfeld in Clausen.

Along the way (the event is not a race and participants can walk at their own pace), teams could earn points by posting selfies with specific landmarks in the background, by answering observation questions and by competing in challenges: this year, Vodafone, Banque Raiffeisen, Enovos/LEO and Home from Home all had challenging quizzes, games and activities lined up.

In the end, it was Soup or Bowl 22 which pipped the runners-up for top position. For their endeavours, they won bottles of Crémant from Bernard-Massard, a hamper from Home from Home, a restaurant voucher and the coveted Maillot Jersey (yellow jersey).

Refreshments at the Finish Station were provided by PM International and Ramborn, with team prizes from Moulins de Kleinbettingen and Cactus supermarkets.
