Luxembourg's cultural action agency ALAC (Agence luxembourgeoise d'action culturelle) has announced the launch of the new ECHO event platform.

ECHO is a free online information portal, accessible at www.echo.lu, which offers a comprehensive overview of events in Luxembourg. The new platform replaces "Events in Luxembourg".

Supported by the Reborn agency for the technical implementation and user experience of this new IT tool, the ALAC could also count on the support of Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture and the City of Luxembourg (Ville de Luxembourg). The cultural agency's many historical partners helped design the platform.

By networking with a database that centralises all event-related information, ECHO aims to contribute to cultural life in Luxembourg by offering the public a complete, easy-to-access and simple-to-use solution for finding unique experiences to enjoy alone or in a group.

As its name implies, ECHO amplifies and relays information for event organisers of all kinds and from all sectors, who can make their events more visible free of charge by integrating them into the online platform and, if necessary, using a ticket office of their choice to sell tickets for their events. It also allows public and private institutions and other entities from the event sector to use the database free of charge. The platform presents the general public with a local cultural and event programme in real time, with display suggestions in line with user profiles.

As a non-profit organisation, ALAC is making this new collaborative space accessible to all. All stakeholders in the event industry use it for free.

“Following the impact of the health crisis on the cultural sector, we are multiplying, together with professionals in the sector, initiatives allowing the public to be in the best possible position to discover, share and enjoy the artistic offer. ECHO is an instrument which perpetuates these efforts and which aims to federate the cultural programme in the broad sense in Luxembourg and to bring together all audiences from the Greater Region around these shared centers of interest”, commented Sam Tanson, Luxembourg's Minister of Culture.

"ECHO is a complete tool that meets most of the needs both for event creators through the many marketing functions available to them and for event consumers thanks to its dynamic content suitable for all audiences", added Luc Wagner, Director of ALAC. “Events in Luxembourg has given us expertise in synchronising information. For this new platform, we have optimised flows, facilitated the integration of data and above all developed a user experience centred on the customer. We intend to strengthen ties with the partners - organisers in order to enhance the content of their event programmes”.
