The US-based non-profit organisation Wreaths Across America will be laying wreaths in honour of the fallen US service members at the Luxembourg American Cemetery (50 Val du Scheid, L-2517) this Saturday 30 November 2019 at 11:00.

Wreaths Across America and the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC), the latter of which manages the Luxembourg American Cemetery, are collaborating for the second time to send US-made wreaths to be laid abroad. Last December, the organisation placed 9,387 veterans’ wreaths on all the headstones at Normandy American Cemetery in France.

This Saturday, the organisation will place Maine-made balsam fir veterans' wreaths on the headstones of all 5,073 US service members laid to rest at the Luxembourg American Cemetery.

Wreaths Across America’s mission is to "remember the fallen, honour those that served, and teach the next generation the value of freedom". The veterans’ wreaths are being gifted to Wreaths Across America as a donation from its Founder, Morrill Worcester, whose life-long dream is to one day lay a wreath in honour of every US veteran laid to rest worldwide.

The transportation of the wreaths from Maine to Europe will once again be coordinated and executed through the in-kind support of global supply chain management company CEVA Logistics and the transatlantic cargo capacity of United Airlines.

Members of the local community are invited to attend and participate in this free, public event to honour and remember the US service members laid to rest in the Luxembourg American Cemetery.

The ceremony begins at 11:00 with the wreath laying starting at 11:30.

Confirmed attendees include US Ambassador to Luxembourg, J. Randolph Evans, Jennifer Roman, Superintendent at the Luxembourg American Cemetery, American Battle Monuments Commission, Renee Worcester from Wreaths Across America and Wayne Hanson, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Wreaths Across America.
