The Science Festival will be returning to Luxembourg for its 12th edition from 7-10 November 2019, offering over 50 workshops for science lovers.

Organised by the National Museum of Natural History (MNHN or "natur musée") and the National Research Fund (FNR), the purpose of the annual Science Festival is to present and promote science and research in Luxembourg and to encourage young people and the public to become interested in, experiment with and discuss science and technology.

This year’s Science Festival will offer 54 workshops, seven interactive shows and two exhibitions, as well as various demonstrations, held across the four days at Neumünster Abbey and the "natur musée".

The first two days, Thursday and Friday, are reserved exclusively for primary and secondary school classes, with a total of 280 classes set to participate (out of the 450 classes who applied). The Science Festival will then be open to the general public on Saturday and Sunday.

The aim of the Science Festival is to strengthen the link between science and society. Since its first edition in 1995, the festival has established itself as the flagship event for the promotion of science in Luxembourg. Indeed, the 2017 edition attracted some 12,000 budding scientists.
