On Thursday 21 September 2017, Luxembourg’s Gilles Muller lost to Georgia’s Nikoloz Basilashvili 4-6, 4-6 in the 2nd round of the Moselle Open in Metz, France.
In Gilles' post match press conference he stated that fatigue had been a factor in his unexpected loss. He had had a great season and probably played too many tournaments without a sufficient break. Nikoloz played an aggressive game and continued to apply pressure throughout the match.
