On Friday, qualifying got underway at the Waves Open 57 women's tennis tournament in Metz, France.
Luxembourg's Céline Schroeder (Cattenom TC) and Jo Weisen (Villiers Les Nancy COS) were both in action, with Céline Schroeder falling against Marie Schosseler, 1-6, 6-2, 6-3. Meanwhile, Jo Weisen - who has played on Luxembourg's Federation Cup team - was playing against Annie Walther whom the Luxembourger defeated in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3.
Qualification will come to a conclusion on Wednesday (1 July) with the 1st round proper starting on Thursday which is due to include Luxembourg's Mangy Minella.
