Proximus announced on Monday that it is combining its two subsidiaries Telindus and Tango to establish Proximus Luxembourg, a new convergent organisation conglomerating the ICT and telecommunication services market for businesses and the mobile, fixed telephony, TV and Internet services market for consumers of each.

Tango and Telindus, the latter of which Proximus acquired full ownership in December 2015, will together pursue a coordinated convergence strategy based o innovation and with a challenger mindset. Proximus Luxembourg will be led by Gérard Hoffman, CEO and Jean-François Willame, Co-CEO and Integration Officer and structured around three entities:

  • The Proximus Luxembourg HQ entity to regroup the mobile and fixed networks and the services and competence centres supporting commercial activities, meaning that all investments will be centrally steered and monitored;
  • The Enterprise Business Unit (EBU) to address large and medium sized companies and act on the B2B market under the Telindus brand. Telindus and Tango will join forces in their businesses of telecom operator and IT provider as a means of expanding their mobile, fixed connectivity, cloud, security, outsourcing and Fintech businesses. EBU will be headed by Gérard Hoffmann;
  • The Consumer Business Unit (CBU) to focus on consumers and small businesses of up to 10 employees and act on the B2C market under the Tango brand. Headed by Jean-François Willame, CBU will continue Tango's growth strategy in mobile, fixed Internet and TV services.

"We are enthusiastic about the combination of both companies, which creates a unique business growth opportunity and will put Proximus Luxembourg into the position of a strong challenging leader on both Telecom and ICT markets," commented Gérard Hoffmann, Chairman and Managing Director of Telindus Luxembourg and CEO of Proximus Luxembourg. "This strategic combination with Tango is compelling and will provide significant benefits to our enterprise customers."

"Tango is confident about the benefits that we will reach by joining forces with our sister company Telindus Luxembourg," added Jean-François Willame, Managing Director of Tango and co-CEO of Proximus Luxembourg. "We are eager to bring to our customers, especially on the B2B market, the expected benefits from the new enhanced organisation. Our B2B customers will benefit from greater resources and more diverse product offerings, including ICT solutions."

Over the coming months, the new Proximus Luxembourg organisation will be set up with the aim of becoming fully operational in September of this year. The adapted offering for B2B customers will hit the market in Q4 of this year with further announcements to follow.
