A survey carried out by Reboot Online, a London-based digital marketing company, has revealed that a Luxembourg resident wishing to make a living as a professional YouTuber would need to reach over twelve million annual views on the online video sharing platform.

By analysing data from Lickd, a digital platform for YouTube content creators, Reboot Online determined how many YouTube views the residents of 44 European countries would need in order to earn advertising revenue equivalent to their respective country's average annual income.

Luxembourg ranked third in the list (behind Liechtenstein and Switzerland) of European countries with the highest net average annual salary and the corresponding number of YouTube views needed to match said salary. In order to earn €42,876 a year in advertising revenue, a Luxembourg YouTuber would need to gain 12,204,612 annual views on the platform.

In comparison, Liechstenstein residents would need to amass 16,692,251 views on their YouTube channels to generate advertising income equal to the net average annual salary of €58,644. Those in Switzerland would need to accumulate 15,421,983 views to make the same amount as the net average yearly salary of €54,144.

Ranking behind Luxembourg, in fourth and fifth place respectively, were Denmark, with 12,174,375 views needed, and Norway, with 11,318,448 required views.
