The Roude Léiw Polo Club, together with non-profit association nestwärme Luxembourg, have announced they will host the 8th International Luxembourg Polo Cup and the 3rd nestwärme Kids Charity Polo Cup on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June 2026, in Luxembourg-Merl.
For the third consecutive year, the nestwärme Kids Charity Polo Cup will be dedicated to bringing people together, supporting young talent and fostering social engagement. Children and teenagers play for a good cause and alongside young people with disabilities, in support of nestwärme’s cross-border children's hospice work as well as respite and residential stays at the Children’s Hospice (Maison de répit) in Trier for families from the Greater Region.
The organisers have said that the free event will offer visitors a weekend that is as sporting as it is family-friendly, featuring exciting events, thrilling polo matches, close encounters with the horses, children’s entertainment and an attractive programme in a unique atmosphere.
To ensure that younger visitors remain entertained throughout both tournament days, the “Coplaning Kids Corner” will offer a varied programme of activities and animations. Admission to the tournament is free, and guests can look forward to excellent food and refreshments provided by Come-à-la-Maison.
“With the nestwärme Kids Charity Polo Cup, we once again aim to bring together sport, community and solidarity,” said Dirk Hense, Vice President of nestwärme Luxembourg. “For families with seriously ill children, every form of respite, guidance and human connection matters. From autumn 2026 onwards, the Children’s and Young People’s Hospice in Trier will provide a place that is also open to families from Luxembourg and can offer them valuable, essential support.”
Alexander Ludorf, President of the Roude Léiw Polo Club, underlined the importance of the partnership: “Supporting young talent in polo is particularly close to our hearts. Our young players are proud to combine their passion for the sport with social engagement in support of children and their families. The collaboration with nestwärme Luxembourg adds a deeply meaningful human dimension to this tournament.”
The networking and event platform “Aperinetwork” will also be part of the event, with a special summer gathering after the games on Saturday 27 June, where invited guests can “celebrate and connect into the evening”.
In parallel, a Gala Dinner will take place from 19:00 on Saturday 27 June, during which a charity raffle in support of nestwärme Luxembourg will be held. Raffle tickets as well as VIP tickets for lunch and dinner can be purchased at: www.poloclub.lu.
Nestwärme Luxembourg is a non-profit association based in Wasserbillig that supports families caring for children with chronic, serious or life-shortening illnesses or disabilities.
