Luxembourg NGO Les Amis du Tibet ("friends of Tibet") has announced that it is screening two films online, in English and/or with English subtitles, on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 September and on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 September 2020.

The selected films are "The Sun Behind the Clouds: Tibet's Struggle for Freedom" (2010) and "The Sweet Requiem" (2018), both directed by Ritu Sarin and Tenzing Sonam.

The Sun Behind the Clouds: Tibet's Struggle for Freedom

This documentary film depicts the  fight for freedom in Tibet after the Tibetan Uprising of 10 March 1959. 50 years after the fall of his country, can the Dalai Lama make a breakthrough in his efforts to find a solution to the Tibetan question? 
The Sun Behind the Clouds premiered in the United States at the 2010 Palm Springs International Film Festival before being screened at the Film Forum in New York.

Les Amis du Tibet Luxembourg will broadcast the film online in English, free of charge, on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 September 2020.

The Sweet Requiem

At the age of eight, Dolkar fled her home with her father to escape the Chinese armed forces and had to face an arduous journey through the Himalayas. Now 26, she lives in a Tibetan refugee settlement in Delhi, where an unexpected encounter with a man from her past awakens long-held memories, propelling Dolkar on an obsessive quest for the truth.

The film will be broadcast online free of charge in the Benelux countries, in Tibetan with French or English subtitles, on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 September 2020.
