The Luxembourg Veterinary and Food Administration (ALVA) has announced the recall of Crottin de Chavignol goat's cheese due to traces of E. coli O26.

The following products have been recalled from various points of sale in Luxembourg:

- "Crottin de Chavignol AOP 45%", 60 g, with the bar code: 3184670010525, lot number: 123-01 and use-by date: 29/06/2024;

- "Crottin de Chavignol AOP" from the Auchan brand, 2x60 g, with the bar code: 3596710333356, lot number: 123-01 and use-by date: 29/06/2024.

ALVA warned that E. coli O26 may cause, in the week following consumption, haemorrhagic gastroenteritis, accompanied (or not) by fever, and which may be followed by severe renal complications in young children. People who have consumed the products mentioned above and who display this type of symptoms are advised to consult a doctor (mentioning the product consumption).
