The non-profit organisation Fairtrade Lëtzebuerg has announced that the 2024 edition of Fairtrade Weeks will start in Luxembourg from Wednesday 1 to 15 May 2024.
This major celebration of fair trade aims to strengthen the place of fair trade in Luxembourg, to transform locals’ consumption patterns towards greater sustainability and to bring more "fairness" into people's daily lives. This is why the NGO called for public, private and individual stakeholders to participate in the action.
“If you are lacking inspiration, why not organise a Fairtrade breakfast, a Fairtrade afterwork with colleagues, a Fairtrade picnic in the sun, a Fairtrade treasure hunt with your children, a tasting session with Fairtrade products, highlighting Fairtrade products on the shelves of your store or even a Fairtrade candlelight dinner with your loved one! There are many ways to participate in this major awareness campaign in Luxembourg,” Fairtrade Lëtzebuerg suggested.
Fairtrade Weeks 2024 will also mark the launch of a major fair action specially dedicated to companies entitled “I share my Fairtrade favourite with my colleagues”, on 8 May 2024. The company that manages to mobilise the most employees will win a team event around cocoa, Fairtrade Lëtzebuerg added.
